Christmas: Calm or Chaos?

Presents, Santa and winter break are what are on the minds of little kids and teens everywhere, when the word Christmas comes to mind. But what is the actually meaning of Christmas? These 2 videos expressed a very good message about the reality of Christmas. We are only stressing about the gifts we are going to receive but we don't focus on the actual meaning of Christmas.

The first video is 1st American Christmas. In this video there are little kids from Africa spending their first Christmas in America. Even though the video is scripted it is portraying a very strong message about shopping especially during the Christmas season. Which made me question, why are we spending so much time and money on gifts for someone who have everything. These kids already understand how all this unnecessary all this gift shopping for someone who has everything. Which is 100% true. Why do we keep giving, giving and giving? It's much more than just giving it's about spending time with one an other and showing our love. Instead of buying dinner for the Christmas party, we can prepare it ourselves and instead of buying something we can make it ourselves. This is what is being expressed in the second video.  Christmas is when Jesus was born. He wasn't born in the most fanciest conditions. He was born in a stable. He is the only Christmas present we should value. He is our saviour.

Christmas today is all chaos which it shouldn't be. Most Canadians take this season as a season of stress finding the best gift to and affordable deals for those gifts. Black Friday this video is how most people are in all the malls finding the gift and deals. This is not how you spend Christmas. First of all, they are fighting and they are shopping for useless items. We are fortunate to be spending Christmas in a warm house, food and clothing. People in our own city, didn't spend Christmas like we did. We have more than enough.

My family aren't so fancy about all these gifts on Christmas but we value the time we have with each on Christmas. Most of my family don't around each other but on Christmas and any other special occasions is when we spend time together. So just being around family and friends is very valuable for me and my family. At the end of the day, we can't just depend on the gifts we receive, we depend on the love and support of our family and friends.
